The petition of Hugh ap John David of Llanraeadr, Denbighshire, c. 1662 to 1667

To the Right worsh[ip]full the Justices of peace of this county of Denbigh &c.

The humble petic[i]on of Hugh ap John David sheweth that he hath bine in the service of our late soveraigne kinge Charles for a longe tyme, vnder Colonel William Wynne of Mellay and vnder the Comand of Captain Thomas Price of Skeibion & hath lost the vse of his left arme being borne in the p[ar]ish of Llanrhayader in Cinmerch & for the said p[ar]ish hath served as we whose names are vnder written doe certifie vnto yo[u]r worsheepes of his beinge in the service of our late kinge Charles yo[u]r poore petic[i]oner desireth to haue some of the maymed souldiers mize towards his pr[e]sent and future reliefe & yo[u]r poore pettic[i]oner shall ever pray for yo[u]r pr[e]servac[i]on longe to continue &c.
