The Humble Petic[i]on of Henry Spearman
<Humbly>
Sheweth that yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[e]r for many yeares faithfullie served his late Ma[jes]tie kinge Charles the first of ever blessed memorie, in which warrs hee receaued many woundes and bruises in his body, the losse of the vse of one of his hands, and one of his eyes whereby hee is quite disabled to Laboure and both himselfe and his familie are like to p[er]ishe.

May it please yo[u]r Good worshipps to Commiserate the sad distresses of yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[e]r and to graunte him a Pention whereby hee may bee enabled to live and may daylie pray for yo[u]r worshipps good healthes, increase of Honour and eu[er]lastinge happines hereafter
