The petition of Hamnet Johnssonne of Poynton, Cheshire, 8 July 1656

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace at their Gen[er]all Sessions of the peace holden at Namptwich the 8th day of July 1656.
The humble Petic[i]on of Hamnet Johnson of Poynton in the County aforesaid yeoman
<Humbly Sheweth>
That yo[u]r pet[itione]r form[er]ly being a souldier Serjeant and wounded in the service for the parliam[en]t and having an order for the from severall Justices for Fourty shillings p[er] annum towards the maintenance of himselfe and Family from the treasurer and having hitherto receiued it from former treasurers (except for two quarters) but not in this last treasurers time for hee hath paid mee him all that was due vnto him) but this treasurer that now is deny’s to pay the said sume to yo[u]r pet[itione]r but would depriue him of the one halfe of it contrary to the aforesaid order of the Justices
The p[re]misses being Considered yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r humbly entreates yo[u]r wor[shi]pps to take it into yo[u]r Graue Considerac[i]ons and take to set downe some way or order whereby yo[u]r pet[itione]r may receiue the said yearely sume of Fourty shillings according to the Justices said Order
And yo[u]r pet[itione]r shall (as in duty bound) for eu[er] pray &c
