To the worshipfull Justices of the Bench peace and deputie Leiuten[an]ts

The humble petition of Hamlett Johnsone one of the inhabit[ant]s of this Countie of Chester

Sheweth

That wheras yo[u]r humble petitioner haueinge beene a souldier at the First vnder the Command of Captaine Edward Hyde and beene office[r] vnder him, and soe continued in the company till the[y] were referred to Captain Thomas Muncke vnder whose Commaund yo[u]r humble petitioner was wounded and maimed at the takeinge of Shrowsbery by the enemy, and thereby disenabled of followinge his callinge for the better maintainance of himselfe his wife and three children and notw[i]thstandinge it is divers years since yo[u]r petitioner was thus wounded and maimed, yet hath he receaued noe releife till of late he obtained an order for fortie shillinges for the supply of his pr[e]sent necessitie, but findinge soe great a loss of the vse of his arme in w[hi]ch he was maimed is still in necessitie of a further supply.

May if please yow therefore to gratifie yo[u]r humble petitioners request and desire either in makeinge his former order to be for a yearely supply to be receiued quarterly at times w[hi]ch this honnerable Bench shall appoint, or els to grant a new order vnder yo[u]r hands for the same purpose and yo[u]r petitioner shall ever pray.
