To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace of the Countye of Wiltes[hire]
The Humble petic[i]on of Gifford Hayword
Sheweth vnto yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps that yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r hath for three yeares space bin in service for the state, where in he hath recei[ve]d two daungerous wounds by reson whereof he is vtterlie disabled to vse anie waye for his subsistance w[i]thout the releife of this Ho[noura]ble Court
Maye it therefore plese yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps to take the pr[e]misses into Cons[i]derac[i]on and to allowe yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r some Compotencye of lyvelyhood by waye of penc[i]on And yo[u]r pet[itione]r shall ever praye &c
