To the Hon[oura]ble the Justic[e]s of the Peace in the Countie Palatine of Chester
The humble Petic[i]on of George Walley of Tiverton
a souldyer
<Sheweth>
That yo[u]r poore Petition[e]r in the [illegible] beginninge of the Warrs was Servant to S[i]r Thomas Savage of Beeston and went w[i]th him to Chester where hee was Inlisted vnder the Com[m]and of Colonel Gamull in the Citty Company afterwardes he was inlisted a private souldier in the troope of Captaine Bavan in the Regiment of Colonel John Barrow after whose death he went to the Garrison of Beeston Castle vnder the Com[m]and of Colonel Vallet by whom hee was comanded on a party to goe to Holt Castle where he was a Soulder vnder the Com[m]and of S[i]r Richard Lloyd K[nigh]t Governor and there was beleagured a tweluemoneth during w[hi]ch time hee was fathfull in the in the service of his Ma[jes]ties Royall father and never since hath deserted his Loyalty, That yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[er] hath a wife and three small Children to mentaine hauing noe Estate at all onely his hand Labour and being informed that his Ma[jes]tie hath by Act of Parlyam[en]t allowed releife to all such sould[i]ers who haue bine faithfull to his Ma[jes]tie that noww is and to his Royall father
Therefore yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r humbly prayes that yo[u]r hon[ou]rs will be pleased to take his sad Condic[i]on into yo[u]r serious considerac[i]on and to allow him such an yearly Penc[i]on towardes his releife as yo[u]r hono[u]rs shall thinke fit
And as in duty bound hee will Euer pray for yo[u]r hono[u]rs health & happines
