To the Right Worshipp[fu]ll his Ma[jes]t[y’]s Justices of the Peace nowe sittinge att the Gen[er]all Quarter Sessions of the Peace in the Citty of New Sarum

The Humble Petic[i]on of George Jolliff

<Humbly sheweth,>

That yo[u]r poore Peti[tio]ner did take vpp armes & serued in the Army of his most sacred Ma[jes]tie Kinge Charles the First of ever blessed memorie against the Scotts Couenanters in the yeare 1639 and hath faithfullie & loyally serued his Ma[jes]tie in his warrs during all tyme of the late rebellion, And hath likewise faithfullie serued his Royall ma[jes]tie Kinge Charles the First Second, And doth further shew that yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[e]r did receaue many wounds & bruises in his body & lost one of his eyes in the said seruice whereby nowe in his old age hee is altogether disabled to labo[u]r or to p[ro]uide for himselfe & familie

In Considerac[i]on of the pr[e]misses

May it please yo[u]r good worshipps to commisserate the distressed condic[i]on of yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r And to graunt him a pension whereby hee maybe the better inabled to maynetayne himselfe in his indigent old age And hee shall &c

Wee whose names are hereunto subscribed doe here by certifye yt wee thinke ye petitioner a very fitt person to receiue a pension
