The petition of George Hopwood of Stockport, Cheshire, Trinity 1650

To the hono[ura]ble the Justices of Peace & Quoru[m] for the said County assembled att the Gen[er]all Quarter Sessions of the Peace houlden at Neather Knutesford.
The humble Petic[i]on of George Hopwood of Stockport in the s[ai]d County husbandman
Humbly Sheweth
That yo[u]r petic[ion]o[r] was a souldi[e]r in the Publique service vnd[e]r the Comaund of Capt[ain] W[illia]m Duckenfeild & in the same Service was Mortally wounded att the Battle att Middlewych wherevpon the petic[i]o[ne]r did att a Quarter Sessions held for his County petic[i]on to bee admitted Pentioner. And soe vpon a refference from the s[ai]d Sessions vnto S[i]r George Booth & Col[onel] Brookes vpon exa[m]i[n]ac[i]on of the s[ai]d busines did Order the petic[i]o[ner] to haue 40 s. p[er] Ann[um] vntill further Ord[e]r
The premisses considered the petic[i]o[ne]r humbly prayeth this hon[oura]ble Bench to confirme his s[ai]d former order for receiueing of the s[ai]d [illegible] (40 s.) p[er] Ann[um] And that hee may noe long[e]r bee debarred from his pention form[er]ly allowed him.
And hee shall ever pray &c
