The Humble Petic[i]on of George Bowrehouse of Heaton Norris in the county of Lanc[a]st[e]r Labo[u]r

<{S}heweth>

That yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r was a Souldior vnd[e]r the Comand of Cor[one]ll Thomas Legh of Adlington for the space of Fourteene yeares dureinge w[hi]ch tyme yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r and ever since hath bene true and faithfull to his ma[jes]ty Late ma[jes]ty and to his ma[jes]ty that now is and in his Late ma[jes]tys service yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r Rec[eived] many Greate wounds and suffered very much Imprissonm[en]t therein; And likewise was sequestered to the vtt[e]r vndoeinge of yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r haveing neither trade nor meanes to subsist w[i]thall beeinge about sixty seaven yeares of Age is very Lik[e]ly to fall into greate poverty & want vnless yo[u]r Wors[hi]pps wilbe pleased to take his sadd & deplorable Condic[i]on into yo[u]r Juditious Considerac[i]on and allowe him a penc[i]on Accordinge as the Rest of his ma[jes]tys penc[i]on[e]rs and meamed souldiors have, soe yt hee & his poore family may bee Releived from beeinge starved and yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r will ever pray &c
