The petition of George Bollonds of Barwick in Elmet, West Riding of Yorkshire, April 1674

To The Right Worshipfull His Ma[jes]ties Justices of Peace for the West Ryding of the County of Yorke.
The humble petition of George Bollonds of Barwick in Elmett.
Humbly Sheweth.
That your petitioner was a souldier vnder the Right Wor[shi]p[full] S[i]r Jacob Astley in his Regiment of foot vnder the Com[m]and of Captain Townsend. Also vnder the Right Honourable Earl of Lindsey & was with him at the siege at Kingston upon Hull in Capt[ain] Slingsbys Company of foot. Also vnder the Right Wor[shi]p[full] S[i]r Marmaduke Langdales Brigade vnder the Com[m]and of Capt[ain] Thwing att Hassom moor, where he Receiued Divers wounds, and also vnder the Right Wor[shi]pp[full] S[i]r Walter Vavasour Regiment of Horse vnder the Command of Capt[ain] Thwing att Atherton fight and att the taking of Bradford where he receiued Divers wounds. And hath ever been faithfull and loyall to his Majesty, and his Royall father of ever Blessed memory, humbly desires to be admitted a pentioner for his said service what you in your Grave wisdoms shall think fitting.
And your petitioner in Duty bound shall ever pray &c.
We the Parishioners of Barwicke in Elmett do {hereby} certify our beleife or knowledge of the aboue written {pe}tition to be true.
