The petition of Francis Pratt of Weldon, Northamptonshire, Trinity 1668

To the Right Hon[oura]bl[e] his Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of the peace For the County of North[amp]ton[shire]
The Humble Petition of Francis Pratt of weldon
Sheweth
That wheras y[ou]r petitioner was one of the first in this County whoe vnder the Hon[oura]bl[e] Collonel Griffin Came into his late Ma[jes]t[y]s Seruice in his warrs wherin (as Testimony wherof hath beene giuen) he did good & faithfull Seruice, and receiued diuers wounds as markes of his Loyaltie, and hath since for the same beene much persecuted by the Maior Generall and longe detained in prison, wherby hee hath beene verry much opressed and impouerished. In Considerac[i]on wherof his Ma[jes]t[y]s Com[m]issioners weare pleased (in pursuance of an Acte of this p[re]sent Parliam[en]t) to grant y[ou]r petitioner a yearly pention to bee paid vnto him by the Treasurers of this County; But the payment of which pention, haueing of Late (with others) been respited from a time when there was fiue pounds in arears and vnpaid therof due to y[ou]r petitioner hee is therby reduced to greate wants, haueing alsoe some disabillities put vppon him by those wounds hee receiued
Y[ou]r Petitioner therfore humbly praies this Hon[oura]bl[e] Bench to take his Case and Condic[i]on into your Consideration, and to grant such order for the paiment of his saide arears, and future pention as to y[ou]r Hono[u]rs shall seeme Just and reqwisite
And y[ou]r Petitioner shall pray &c
It is ordered that Francis Pratt shall haue 40 s. p[ai]d him by the Treasurer of the east Division in full discharge of his arreares & his all other penc[i]ons for the future.
