The petition of Francis Poyntz of St Andrew Holborn, Middlesex, May 1660

To the Kings most Excellent Ma[jes]tie

The humble petic[i]on of Francis Poyntz Citizen & Uphoulster of London.

Humbly sheweth,

That Newdigate Poyntz yo[u]r pet[itione]rs late Father being Captaine vnder Col[one]l Candish in ye Service of his late Ma[jes]tie of blessed memory was slaine in ye Service ag[ain]st Gainsborough & left yo[u]r pet[itione]r & 10 other Children to ye care of a Stepmother, by which service yo[u]r pet[itione]r & all their relac[i]ons lost all their estate.

Yo[u]r pet[itione]r therefore most humbly beseecheth yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie to Confer vpon him ye place & duty of Uphoulster to yo[u]r Ma[jes]ties Court.

And yo[u]r pet[itione]r (as in duty bound) shall ev[e]r pray &c.
