The petition of Foulke Owen of Lleweni Green, Denbighshire, 12 July 1670
To the right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace for the Countie of Denbigh.
The humble petic[i]on of Foulke Owen.
Humbly sheweth.
That yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r did for divers yeares Serve his Ma[jes]tie in the late Warr as Wagoner vnder the Honor[a]ble Colonel S[i]r Thomas Salusbury and Colonell S[i]r John Owens, where at the battell at Naseby yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r receaued Six Wounds and a Musket Shott as by a Bullet still remayning in his may apear body doth apeare.
And in as much as yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r by reason of those wounds and age being 80 yeares old is disenabled to worke for livelihood, and therefore exposed to [illegible] poverty and want.
May it therefore please yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps to graunt vnto yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r for his subsistence for ye future, the same yearely allowance as the rest of ye maymed Souldiers doe receave in ye like nature.
And yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r shall ever pray &c
Wee whose names are herevnder written doe certify the truth of this petic[i]on.
