The petition of Evan ap Ellys of Llanberis, Carnarvonshire, 1660

To the right wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace now sitting att the Quarter Sessions for the Cou[n]ty afores[ai]d.
The humble pettition of Evan ap Ellys of the p[ar]ish of Llanberis in the Cou[n]ty afores[ai]d &c.
Humbly sheweth
That your pettitioner hath beene & serued his late ma[jes]tie [illegible] for the space of many yeares togeither dureing the late vnhappie warres in England in the regiment & vnder the Com[m]and of S[i]r John Owens and Capt[ain] Francis Gruffyth of Cefn Amwlch And hath hadd & receaued dureing that warre in his late ma[jes]ties constant seruice many shotts, sores & grieveous wounds in seu[er]all parts of his body, And att the Battle in Chisister hath had seu[er]all blowes on the head whereby he lost his heareing & is thereby made vnable to worke or labour for his mayntenance
Now your pettitioners Humble request vnto your wor[shi]pps is that your wor[shi]pps wil be pleased the pr[e]misses duely considered to admitte & allowe your pettitioner to haue & receaue the relieffe, salary or quarterly stipend by law p[ro]uided, for poore & maymed souldiers in such Case or otherwise to allowe him what your wor[shi]pps shall thinke fitt & agreable to Equity & good conscience &c
