The petition of Ellis Evans of Penmorfa, Carnarvonshire, 1660

To the wor[shi]p[ful] the Justices of the peace for the Countie of Carn[ar]von

The humble pet[ition] of Ellis Evans of the p[ar]ish of [illegible] in the Countie of Carn[ar]von

Shew that yo[u]r pet[itione]r heretofore in the late Raigne of our late sou[er]aigne lord and king of famous memorie Charles the First was pressed souldier out And for the p[ar]ish of Penmorva in the said Countie of Carn[ar]von two seu[er]all tymes to witt, first to Scotland And then shortly after the Armie being by our said king disbanded your pet[itioner] Came home to his Countrie But in shorte tyme was agayne pressed souldier for his said king & sou[er]aigne out & for the said p[ar]ish of Penmorva to the late warrs then in England In which warrs yo[u]r pet[itioner] Continued true souldier for his said king Four yeares & receaved there in nyne seu[er]all greate woundes in seu[er]all p[ar]ts of his bodie, yo[u]r pet[itioner] being shott through his yard, & bulletts remayneing still in his bodie the markes of w[hi]ch woundes yo[u]r pet[itioner] is readie to shew if yo[u]r wor[ship]s soe please yo[u]r pet[itioner] endureing then for his said kings sake great ymprisonm[en]ts by Reason of which woundes yo[u]r peti[tioner] is not able to mayntayne himselfe wife nor his small Children but must be forced to goe a begging for that the wound in yo[u]r pet[itioners] yard doth greiuously troble yo[u]r pet[itioner] in the nature of a stone Collick

The pr[e]mises Considered May it please yo[u]r wor[ship]s to be pleased to allow vnto yo[u]r pet[itioner] such yearely pension of the now maimed souldiers mizes as your worr[ship]s shall thinke fitt for the maintenance of yo[u]r pet[itioner] his wife &<small> Children to be paid vnto yo[u]r pet[itioner] att such tyme & place as yo[u]r wor[ship]s shall thincke f{it} & Convenient And yo[u]r pet[itioner] shall pray for yo[u]r wor[ship]s health & happines &c
