The petition of Ellinor Morgan of Hereford, Herefordshire, 30 December 1648

To the ho[noura]ble the Com[m]ittee by Ordinance of Parliament for Gloucester & Hereford &c:
The humble petition of Ellinor Morgan widdow
Sheweth that your petitioners husband Hugh Morgan on the one & twentieth of this instant moneth, beeing at worke in the Colledg of Hereford (taking downe Tyle of the said Colledg) by accident a Rafter sodainely fell and stroke him on his head; w[hi]ch did soe greiouously wound him that hee dyed this morning (beeing very poore) and leauing two smale Children behind him and nothing for their subsistence & mayntenance, nor any thing to bury him:
Your petitioners humble sute to your honours is bee pleased to Com[m]isserat her lamentable and sadd Condition; & to bestowe your beneuolence on her for releife of herself & children (and towardes buriall of the said Morgan)
And your honours petitioner shal bee alwaies bound in dutie to pray for your honours &c:
And this for Gods cause.
Att the Com[m]ittee by ordinance of Parliam[en]t for Heref[ord] Glouc[este]r &c the xxxth day of December Anno D[omi]ni 1648.
Ordered that the Tre[asure]r to this Com[m]ittee doe pay vnto the above named Ellinor Morgan Twenty shillings towards the Reliefe of herselfe & children.
