The petition of Elizabeth Taylour of Canterbury (St Dunstan’s Parish), City and County of Canterbury, 1654

To the right wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of peace nowe assembled in generall Quarter Sessions for the said County
The humble petic[i]on of Elizabeth Taylour Late wife of John Taylour of the p[ar]ish of St Dunstons neere ye Citty of Canterbury
<Humbly Sheweth>
That whereas yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r had formerly allowed her two shillings weekly by order of vntill this sessions for the maintenance of herselfe and two small children w[hi]ch her said husband lefte her who was wounded in the p[ar]liam[en]ts service in Ireland and since his retorne home dyed
Yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r therefore humbly prayes yo[u]r wo[rshi]pps that you wil be pleased to continue her said two shillings weekly vnto her as shee hath formerly had.
And shee shall ever pray &c
Mr Fry the Tre[asure]r of the maymed sould[ie]rs to pay her Forty shillings in full.
