To the Right worship[fu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of peace and Quor[um] at the quarter Sessions holden at Preston w[i]thin the County of Lanc[aste]r
The humble Petic[i]on of Elizabeth Primrose of Walton in le Dale
<Sheweth:>
That yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r at the last quarter Sessions here holden petic[i]oned your wor[shi]ps for some releife towards the mantenance of herselfe and two smale Children, her husband being a Souldier in his late Ma[jes]ties service, and shee being vtterly vnable to mantaine her selfe and Children, yo[u]r wor[shi]ps were then pleased to order that the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poore w[i]thin the parish of Blackborne should forthw[i]th vpon notice thereof make p[ro]vic[i]on for the releife & mantenance of yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r & her Children by the weekely allowance of six pence or shewe Just cause to the contrary at the then next Sessions to bee holden at Padiham And further sheweth that although yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r deliu[er]ed yo[u]r wor[shi]ps order to the said Churchwardens, yet notw[i]thstandinge they haue altogether refused to or wilfully neglected to make any provic[i]on or allowance for your petic[i]on[e]r and her poore Children, according to the said Order through often solicited therevnto.
Yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r humbly prayes that yo[u]r wor[shi]ps would bee pleased to take the pr[e]misses into yo[u]r considerac[i]on and to take such course for the confirmeing of yo[u]r former Order for the releife of your poore Petic[i]on[e]r and her Children as to your wor[shi]ps shall seeme meete And shee shall ever pray &c
