The humble petic[i]on of Elizabeth Elcock of Namptw[i]ch widow.
Sheweth
That your petic[i]oners husband Raphe Elcock was a souldier in the Parliam[en]ts service duringe the tyme of all ye late warrs in England and was at ye last service at Woster beinge a sarjeant vnder Captayne John Delues in the regim[en]t of Col[one]l Thomas Croxton in which service hee receaued such a hurt by a horse that hee dyed within 4 or 5 dayes after leaveinge yo[u]r poore petic[i]oner and one little infant without any meanes to menteyne them, insomuch as yo[u]r petic[i]oner is growen into great want and povertie and is not able longer to subsist vnlesse
Yo[u]r worshipps wil bee pleased to graunt her some releefe ether by admittinge her to bee a penc[i]oner, or otherwise to p[ro]uide for her as your petic[i]oner as in dutie bound will ever pray &c
