The petition of Elizabeth Ashby of King’s Cliffe, Northamptonshire, October 1674

The humble Petic[i]on of Elizabeth Ashby widdowe
Sheweth
That yo[u]r poore Petic[i]oner very aged and decrepitt late wife of Francis Ashley of Kings Cliffe deceased whoe was slaine in his Ma[jes]ties service by order of Court had allowed a pension yearely of Fortye shillings to be paid att every quarter Sessions by equall porc[i]ons by the Treasurer of the East Division vnto your poore Petic[i]oner For the confirmation and continuance of which order
Yo[u]r Petic[i]oner doth humbly pray that yo[u]r petitioner may receive her said Pension and the Arreares accordinge to the order of Court for her future menitenance and livelehood And as in all duty bound yo[u]r Petitioner shall daily pray for hono[u]rs health and prosperity &c
The penc[i]on herein petic[i]oned for, be henceforth for ye future contynued but not ye arreares to be The first paym[en]t to begin at this pr[e]sent Sessions & The same to be p[ai]d by ye Tre[asure]r of ye West East Division.
