To the right wor[shi]p[fu]ll the Justices of ye peace of this County at this present Sessions at Northwich assembled.

The humble petic[i]on of Elizabeth Ackson of Leftw[i]ch widow

Humbly shewinge vnto your Worshipps That your petic[i]oners late husband Thomas Ackson hath beene a souldier in the Parliam[en]t service ever since the beginninge of the late warre in England, and adventured his life in severall battells both in this and other neighboringe Counties yett it pleased God alwayes to pr[e]serve his life and bringe him out of danger w[hi]ch hee ever gave the almighty thanks for, although hee suffered exceedingly and came to mighty losses by ye enemy and was therby growen into a low Condic[i]on, Yett if hee had lived any while your petic[i]on[e]r beleeves hee would haue recouered his losses agayne through his paynes care and industry But goeinge to Worcester vpon the last designe agaynst the Scotts (beinge a Leiueten[a]n[t]e vndeer Captayne Walley and behavinge himself theare stoutly and vallyently) was theare slayne in the battle whereby yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r is vtterly vndone in regard her sayd husband left her more in debt then her meanes is worth and Two small children to menteyne

Yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r therefore humbly prayeth that she may bee admitted a penc[i]oner and to receaue such a yearely stypend at yo[u]r Worshipps shall thinke fitt. And your pet[itioner] will ever pray &c
