The humble petition of Elinor Bostocke
<Sheweth>
That yo[u]r petition[e]rs husband John Bostocke beinge a soldier vnder Col[one]l Thomas Croxton in the Brigade raised for the County of Chester in the service at Worcester there slayne and left yo[u]r petition[e]r w[i]th three small Childre{n} destitute both of meanes and habitation: And yo[u]r poore petition[e]r hauinge noe Frends to support her nor beinge able to gett any thinge by her labour in regard of the paynes she must take with her Children is not able to pay Rent for a house as form[er]ly in regard her husband was very laborious and industrious and got money therby both to pay his rent and mainteine his Famyly.
Soe that yo[u]r poore petition[e]r humbly prayeth yo[u]r wor[shi]pps she might haue liberty to erect a smale Cottage in Wimbaldsley where her husband was borne in some Convenient place in the s[ai]d towne she haueinge the Consent of all the inhabitants whose names are vnder written; And yo[u]r poor petition[e]r as in duty bound will eu[er] pray &c
Wee the inhabitants of Wimbaldsley whose names are subscribed humbly intreat the petition[e]rs request may bee graunted
