The petition of Edward Wisdom, Warwickshire, 28 August 1646

To the Hon[oura]ble Committee for Safetie of Cittie and Countie of Couentrey and the Countie of Warrwick

The humble petic[i]on of Edward Wisdom

<Sheweth> That yo[u]r pet[itione]r hath beine a soldier in the parliament service the space of 2 years and at the first siege before Banbury Castle, was shott so dangerosly that hee is beecom vnable to follow his Caling and (beeing now disbanded) hath not any meanes to subsist.

Yo[u]r pet[itione]r therfore humbly prayeth That yo[u]r honours wil bee pleased to grant vnto yo[u]r pore pet[itione]r such releife in the pr[e]misses as to yo[u]r hono[u]rs shall seeme meete. And yo[u]r pet[itione]r shall bee euer bound to pray for yo[u]r hono[u]rs p[ro]sperity and happines long to continue &c.
