The petition of Edward Vincent of Berwick St John, Wiltshire, 8 January 1661

To ye Wor[shi]pf[u]ll ye Justices of ye Peace for ye County of Wiltes[hire], now settinge att New Sarum Att ye Generall Quarter Sessions there holden the Eigth day of January xii Car[oli] R[egi]s A[nn]o 1660:

The humble Petic[i]on of Edward Vincent of Barwick St Johns in this County:

Humbly Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]r was a souldier in his late Ma[jes]ties service vnder the Com[m]and of Leiv[tenan]t Collonell Buck and Continued in the service nere two yeares vntill yo[u]r Pet[itione]r in the s[ai]d service lost the vse of his left hand wherby hee was disabled to doe his souereigne further service. That yo[u]r pet[itione]r is now in greate Want haueinge a wife & two Children to Maynteyne & yo[u]r pet[itione]r almost past his labor:

May itt therefore please yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps to Consider yo[u]r pet[itione]rs Condic[i]on and graunt yo[u]r pet[itione]r a yearely penc[i]on payable out of ye Treasurye for ye County

And yo[u]r Pet[itione]r shall dayly pray &c
