To the Right worshipfull his Ma[jes]ties Justices of peace and quor[um] at theire Sessions houlden at Wigan vpon the 21th of January in the County Palatine of Anno [sic.] Domini 1666.
The humble petition of Edward Mawdesley of Lathom
Sheweth
That yo[u]r petic[i]oner haith beene listed vnd[e]r fiue seu[er]all Captins and they are all dead only by but two viz Captine Boare and Captine Sutch yo[u]r petic[i]oner hath a Certificat from vnd[e]r the Earle of Derbyes hand to certifie that hee haith faithfully served his Ma[jes]tie and his Royall fath[e]r and hath come to great losses and damages by the warrs yo[u]r petitioner hath Receaved a pention this two or three yeares and this last yeare theire there was false informac[i]on made ag[ains]t him which hath hind[e]r[e]d him of his penc[i]on yo[u]r petic[i]oner humbly desireth yo[u]r good worshipps to take into Considerac[i]on his poore Condic[i]on and that you would be pleased to allowe him his ould sume which he hath formerly rec[eived] and he will eu[er] pray &c
