The petition of Edward Jolley of Church Brampton, Northamptonshire, Trinity 1676

To the Right worship[fu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace for the County of Northampton[shire]
The humble petic[i]on of Edward Jolley of the p[ar]ish of Church Brampton in the s[ai]d County of North[amp]ton[shire] Miller
Humbly sheweth
That yo[u]r poore petic[i]oner haueing in the late vnhappy warrs served his late Majestie vnder the Com[m]and of Capt[ain] Harvey in the Regiment of the Right Hono[ura]ble James Earle of Northampton as by Certificate vnder the said Earles hand and seale may clearely appeare And yo[u]r petic[i]oner by reason of his seu[er]all wounds in the said service and his old age yo[u]r petic[i]oner beinge three score and Eleven yeares of Age and past his labor and nothinge left whereby to subsist w[i]thout the Charitie of yo[u]r good worshipps
Humbly prayes yo[u]r worshipps to take his condic[i]on into yo[u]r serious considerac[i]ons and to allow to yo[u]r poore petic[i]oner such penticon as to yo[u]r good worshipps shall seeme most meete and yo[u]r petic[i]oner
And yo[u]r petic[i]oner shall ever pray as in duty {boun}d &c.
The petitioner to have 40 s. p[er] Ann[um] q[uar]terly till further ord[e]r of this Court the first paym[en]t to begin att Mich[aelm]as Sessions next to bee paid by the Treasu[re]r of the West Division of this County.
