The petition of Edward Ellis of Carnarvon, Carnarvonshire, 1660

To the Right wor[shi]p[fu]ll the Justices of peace now sittinge at the quarter sessions in Carn[ar]von

The humble petition of Edward Ellis late of Carn[ar]von Tanner

Humbly sheweth

That your petitioner was sev[er]all Times a souldier in his late Ma[jes]ties service King Charles the First in Ireland & England & at Last he serued as a souldier vnder the Com[m]aund of Captaine Willi[a]m Brynkir in England & since vnder his Brother Captaine Jo[h]n Brynkir S[i]r Jo[h]n Owen beinge Colonell of the Regiment & at Nasbie was cruelly wounded in 2 places of his body vizt he was Cutt on the left shoulder & strucke with the stocke of a pistoll on his Right Arme soe that your petitioner is not able to worke by Reason of the woundes he hath in his body.

Now yo[u]r petitioners humble Request vnto yo[u]r wor[shi]ps is that your wor[shi]ps will be pleased to Comiserate his Condition & to allowe him yearelie out of the maimed souldiers mise what sume yo[u]r wor[shi]ps shall thinke Fitt for his mainetenance he beinge butt a poore man & not able to worke for his livinge.

And yo[u]r petitioner shall euer pray &c
