to The Right Worshipffull the Justices off Peace For the Countie off Darby the humbly peticion off Dawson Berrisford off Melborn

In all humility Complaineth and sh[e]weth yt your poore peticioner Dawson Berrisford of Melborn, had an order granted the last quarter sseson [sic.] att Bakwell att Medsomer last, For his pension iii pounds a year For to be paid by the Ouerseers of the parish of Melborn, which ye Ouerseers refused to pay yo[u]r poor peticioner, your peticioner Complaineth to Sir Simon Dedg wherupon hee granted an asummones to appear att Chesterfield, yo[u]r petici[o]ner demaded [sic.] his mones of the Ouerseers without any mor truble wherevpon the Ouerseers promased to pay youer peticioner att Crismas last att Mr Hardinges Howse Esq[uire] before Mr Harding and Thomas Donkester and Thomas Balle and seruall moor and therevpon yo[u]r peticioner did not mak any quiuston of his mony wher vpon the Oursers gote sumhaunds in the parish and went to Chesterfield sesons, yo[u]r peticioner not thinking anything of itt, and so refuesed to pay yo[u]r poor peticioner. Mr Cooke Esq[uire] and Mr Harding Esq[uire] bad them to pay yo[u]r peticner those hands they had out of the parrish wer men that loved not the Kings Soulgers yo[u]r petticner had Fane to pas An esteat in ye Rebels time to pay for the Cwer of his Right hand which hee lost in King Charles wares the Forest yo[u]r peticiner lost his Right hand in Kinge Charles the Forest armie being elder sargant to S[i]r Jacobe Ashly one Company and resaued other wounds wher your peticner att his retorn after som iiii yeres wase Fan to pas An esteat of Twenty A yer to his yonger Brother to help cwer his wounds, your poor peticners desire is that your Worships will be pleased to grant him an Generall Order For his pension.
