The petition of David Lewis of Denbigh, Denbighshire, 6 October 1668

To the right Wo[rshipfu]ll his Ma[jes]t[y]s Justic[es] of Peace att this p[re]sent q[ua]rter Sessions held for the said County.
The humble pettic[i]on of Livetennant David Lewis.
Humbly sheweth vnto yo[u]r wo[rsh]ipps, Thatt yo[u]r pet[i]t[ione]r was Admitted a pensioner of 3 pownds p[er] Annu[m] to bee paid him out of this County for his service beinge a maymed souldier in his Ma[jes]t[y]s Late service.
Butt nowe soe it is may it please yo[u]r wo[rsh]ipps Thatt it was yo[u]r wo[rshi]pps pleasures not only to allowe him this 3 li. p[er] Ann[um] butt to Add to yo[u]r pet[i]t[ione]r[s] further pension as soone as any vacancye should encrewe [sic], And nowe their is seu[er]all vacancyes namely Cad[wala]d[e]r Wynne & seu[er]all others, yo[u]r pet[i]t[ione]r haveinge lost his Lym in his said Ma[jes]t[y]s Late service as may appe[ar] to yo[u]r wo[rsh]ipps And is nowe detayned from his pension 3 q[uar]ters of a yeare, to yo[u]r poore pet[i]t[ione]rs greate damadge.
May it Therefore please yo[u]r wo[rsh]ipps to Consider the p[re]mises, And to Order that yo[u]r pet[i]t[ione]r may as well receave his pension form[er]ly in arreare (as to Add to yo[u]r pet[i]t[ione]r somethinge, to his form[er] pension, haveinge nothinge to releive him butt the said pension, haveing lost the vse of his lyme as aforesaid. And for yo[u]r wo[rsh]ipps Order herein yo[u]r pet[i]t[ione]r as in duty will eu[er] pray &c.
