The petition of David Evans of Wrexham, Denbighshire, 12 July 1670

To the Right Wor[shi]pp[fu]lle his Maje[st]ys Justices of the peace Sitting at the Quarter Sessions in Denbigh.
The humble petition of David Evans of Wrexham, harper
Humbly Sheweth
Whereas your petitioner from the beginning and for Severall years Served in the late warrs as Sirjeant under the Command of Major Francis Manley; Afterwards In the Garrison of Chester a Souldiar under his late Majesty of blessed Memory and Likewise a Servant unto the Honourable Lord Byron, Then Generall; And that your petitioner hath alwayes kept himself Constant and Loyall never Revoltinge from his first principles; & indeavoured as much as in him lay to his Majesties happy Restauration; whereby your petitioner became a great sufferer; both in purss and person;
The premises Considered May it please your wor[shi]pps; to consider your petitioners Loss not only the former wars but also his loss in his endevor in Chester busines which was no less then the value of one hundred pounds your petitioner now growing poore aged and almost lost his eye Sight;
And your poore petitioner will
