The petition of David ap William Bowen, Denbighshire, c. 1662 to 1667

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the Countie of Denbigh

Yo[u]r humble pettic[i]oner Dauid ap William Bowen humblie sheweth

That yo[u]r pettic[i]oner did serve his late Maiestie of ever blessed memorie from the first voyage in Scotland vnder the Com[m]and of Capten Robert Broughten and after that vnder the Com[m]and of ye wor[shipfu]ll S[i]r Thomas Salusburie S[i]r Evan Floyd & maior John Doulben during his maiesties his late warre faithfullie having receiued severall wounds to his great disadvantage being a labourer to wit one on his Right arme Att Brandfford fight in so much that hee is debilitated and vnable to folow his labour hee himselfe being stricken in yeares and having a wife and three smale Children and nothing to maintaine them doth now humbly request that yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps take it into Considerac[i]on And grant him what Anuall Allowance yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps thinke meete

And yo[u]r pettic[i]oner his wife and Children shall ever bee bound to pray &c.
