The petition of Daniell Foord of Broad Clyst, Devon, Michaelmas 1679

To his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace of the County aforesaid and to every of them, to whom these p[re]sents shall come.

The Humble Petition of Daniell Foord of the p[ar]ish of Broad Clist in the County aforesaid.

<Humbly Sheweth>

That yo[u]r poore petitioner Haveing formerly been a souldjer under the Comand of S[i]r Richard Chamlyn (his Collonell) And haveing Received sev[er]all Hurts: By Reason whereof (and of his Age) he is not able to support & maintaine himselfe; but is Releived by the aforesaid p[ar]ish of Broadclist; doth therefore Humbly Request and desire, That he may have some of his Ma[jes]ties money allowed for maintainance of maimed souldjers , which if yo[u]r Hon[ou]rs please to Grant him yo[u]r poore Petic[i]oner, as in duty bound shall Ever Pray>
