The petition of Constance Creane, Lancashire, Epiphany 1658

To the right wor[shi]p[fu]ll the Justices of peace & Quor[um] now sittinge at Preston.
The humble petic[i]on of Constance Creane widd[ow]
Humbly sheweth that yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] is a verie aged women & hath to maintaine one daughter who is impotent & lame & had her husband after hee had faithfully served the Parliam[en]t of England for seu[er]all yeares (vnder the Comand of Maior Robbinson) slaine in the same service, And now by reason of her age & the impotencie of her daughter is likely to starve.
Wherefore yo[u]r pet[itione]r humbly beseecheth yo[u]r wor[shi]ps to take the same into yo[u]r speedie considerac[i]on & to make such order therin as to yo[u]r wor[shi]ps shall seeme meete And shee as in dutie bound will ever pray &c.
