The petition of Cibble Stevenson of Fradswell, Staffordshire, 6 October 1657

<To the wor[shipfu]ll ye Justices of the peace for this County of Staff[ord].>

The Petic[i]on of Cibble Stevenson an Aged widdowe.

Sheweth that shee is in Arreares the sume of thirty Shillings which shee was to have Receiued by vertue of a grante by the Wor[shipfu]ll Bench being in Considerac[i]on of the Sume of 10 li. owing to her Husband whoe was slaine in the States service which shee was to receu[e] by 10 s. p[er] quarter quarterly till the said 10 li. was paid. Nowe it is her Humble Request that yo[u]r worships would give order for the paym[en]t of the said 30 s. due as Allsoe that shee may have some yearely Allowance in Regard of the Loss of her said Husband, and forasmuch as shee is very old and hath nothing to subsist vpon and shee shall ever pray &c.

Orde[red] that 30 s. be p[ai]d to the widow acc[or]d[in]g to the ord[e]r [illegible] that the Treasurer shall paye yt but no penc[ion] f[o]r the future.
