The petition of Christopher Mowson, Lincolnshire, 1655

To the Right Worship[fu]ll the Justices of ye peace in the partes of Lindsey in ye County of Lincolne

The humble peticon of Christopher Mowson.

Humbly sheweth.

Whereas yo[u]r said petic[i]oner hath faithfully served the Commonwealth as a souldier from the first beginninge of the warre, both in England duringe the warre here, and then in Scottland euer since the first goeing ouer, where by reason of feild seruice both through could and hard marches my body being broken into Rupture, I was disabled for further seruice and soe compelled to repair unto my Native Country where likewise I am disabled to gett my liueing by reason of my said infirmity.

May it therefore please yo[u]r worships upon consideration of the pr[e]mises to grant me a pention where by I may be in some measure inabled to subsist.

And yo[u]r petic[i]oner shal euer pray &c

The Peticon[e]r is allowed the Sume of liii s. iiii d. to be paid him q[ua]rerly. The first paym[en]t to beginne this Sessions.
