The petition of Charles Feilden of Lowton, Lancashire, Michaelmas 1677

To the right wor[shi]pp[fu]ll his Maj[es]ties Justices of the peace at the gen[er]all quarter Sessions of the peace held at Wigan
The humble petic[i]on of Charles Feilden of Lowton
Sheweth
That yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r was A soldier in his late Maj[es]ties service vnder the Comand of Collonell Henry Slater by reason whereof and of the seu[er]all wounds and bruises w[hi]ch hee then rec[eive]d as alsoe now by reason of his old age and many infermityes groweing vpon him hee is in greate want of some releefe and mantaynance
May it therefore please yo[u]r good worshipps to grant vnto yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[e]r such an allowance as to yo[u]r worshipps shall seeme meete
And yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs [sic.] shall ever pray &c
