The petition of Captain William Pitchford, Carnarvonshire, 7 October 1659

To the Right wor[shi]p[fu]ll the Justices of the Peace of the said Countie nowe sitting at Conway.
The humble Petic[i]on of Captaine William Pitchford a Souldior & a faithfull Servant in the Service of the Comenwealth of England.
Humbly shewing vnto yo[u]r wor[shi]ps That yo[u]r Petic[i]oner hath of late yeares bin visited w[i]th a tedious & grievous sicknes, for Remedie & endeavouring Cure whereof, he hath spent & defrayed his whole estate. & is thereby rendred & become very poore, havinge noe subsistence to maintaine himselfe & Children.
Humbly beseeching therefore yo[u]r wor[shi]ps the pr[e]misses duely considered for yo[u]r poore Petic[i]oners distressed & indigent Condic[i]on & estate at p[re]sent to relieve him out of the maymed Soldiors Mize & Stocke remaininge in the old Thre[asure]rs handes for the yeare 1658: And for his future livliehood & subsistence to allowe & give him a Competent Sallarie & Penc[i]on suitable & p[ro]vided for, by the lawe of the lande for an officer or p[er]son of his sadd Condic[i]on, or otherwise to relieve him as yo[u]r wor[shi]pps shall thinke fitt & most agreeable by the lawe of God to an indigent Condic[i]on visited by his p[ro]vidence. And yo[u]r petic[i]oner &c.

Ordered that the Petitioner be admitted as one of the Pensioners for this County & that he ten pounds yearly allowed him.
