To the Kings most Excellent Ma[jes]tie.

The humble Petic[i]on of James Neale Gent[leman].

Most humbly sheweth.

Whereas yo[u]r Pet[itione]r and his Father hath ever since the beginning of the Rebellion in yo[u]r Ma[jes]ties Kingdomes served faythfully in the warr against yo[u]r Rebells to the losse of their blood and estates and now that all yo[u]r faythfull Subjects expect joyfully yo[u]r Ma[jes]ties speedy restitution to yo[u]r Kingdome whereby yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie will be enabled to consider and reward all yo[u]r loyall Subjects.

Yo[u]r Pet[itione]r therefore most humbly craveth that yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie will bee graciously pleased to grant vnto him yo[u]r Com[m]ission to be yo[u]r Ma[jes]ties Treasurer in yo[u]r Dominion of Virginia, with such power, and priviledges, as yo[u]r Ma[jes]ties Father of ever blessed memory was pleased to grant unto Jerome Hawley Treasurer there and now deceased in w[hi]ch place yo[u]r Pet[itione]r may be able to doe yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie acceptable service being well acquainted with all the affaires of that Countrie.

And as in duty bound hee shall ever pray &c.

<his Ma[jes]tie is resolved not to dispose of any such place vntill he shall come into Engl[an]d & be better informed conc[er]ning it.>
