The humble pet[it]ion of Francis Bowles.

Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]r in the begin[in]g of the late Warrs in England according to his duty did ingage in his late Ma[jes]ties serues and at the battle at Edgehill, was the first man that was shott w[i]th a Cannon bullett w[hi]ch shattered both sholder and Arme all in peeces that they haue ben useles to him euer sence; That yo[u]r peti[tio]n[e]rs Father engaged his Estate allsoe in that serves and is now becom inferme and soe aged that he goes vpon cruches and is not able to helpe him selfe.

Yo[u]r pet[itione]r humbley prayeth for the more comfortable subsistance of him selfe and his poore father, That yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie will be plesed to bestow vpon him the office of yo[u]r Ma[jes]tis Tents and Toyles now in yo[u]r Ma[jes]tis dispose, and where in yo[u]r peticoner & his Father haue ben bredde & haue liued in Maney yeares, untell these late trubles in England remoued them

And yo[u]r peticoner as in duty bound will pray for yo[u]r Ma[jes]tis longe and hapey Raigne
