The Petition of Anthony Hodgkins of Saughton in the County of Chester affores[ai]d husbandman:

Humbly sheweth:

Wheras yo[u]r poore Petition[e]r For six severall yeares together served faithfully his late Ma[jes]tie of Ever blessed memory as a Common souldier under command of the Lord Brandon as by a Certificate under his Lordships hand may appeare w[i]thowt any Recompence or Considerac[i]on for the same, wherby yo[u]r poore Petition[e]r is Fallen into a very indigent Condic[i]on unable to maintaine his wife Family & Foure small Children.

The pr[e]misses Considered may it please yo[u]r worships Soe far graciously to commiserate yo[u]r poore Petition[e]rs deplorable Condic[i]on to Enlist him in the number of his Ma[jes]ties Pention[e]rs & yo[u]r humble Petition[e]r will Ever pray.
