The petition of Anthony Baker of Salisbury, Wiltshire, undated

The humble petic[i]on of Anthony Baker of ye Citty of New Sarum
<Sheweth>
That yo[u]r poore Petic[i]oner hath beene severall yeares in ye Service of ye Com[m]onwealth & yt when ye late Insurrec[i]on & Rebellion was in this County yo[u]r petic[i]oner, beeing listed as a soldier for suppressing ye same did through ye wise p[ro]vidence of god fall from his horse beeing vnrully & in ye fall Broke his legg to ye g[rea]t dammage & miserie of yo[u]r petitioner beeing a poore man, & haveing charge of wife & Childeren
Yo[u]r petitioner humbly desireth yo[u]r honor ye premisses Considered to Com[m]isserate his Condition & to find out a speedy Course as to yo[u]r honor shall seeme meet for ye supply & releife of yo[u]r petitioner in regard of ye extraordinary Charge he hath beene putt vnto by reason of ye said fall
And yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r shall humbly pray &c

I desire that you would at yo[u]r next gen[era]lll sessions Consider this pettion [sic.] and the petioner accordinge to his Condition & thereby you will oblige yo[u]r seruant
