The petition of Anne Morgan of Marton, Cheshire, 2 October 1660

The humble Petic[i]on of Anne Morgan wife of William Morgan late of [illegible] Martin
To the hono[ura]ble the Justices of the Peace at their Quarter Sessions at held at Knotsford the 2d day of October 1660
Humbly sheweth
That where as yo[u]r Petic[i]oners said husband was (nyne yeares since) pressed and Constrained to goe to Ireland, a Com[m]on souldier for the Towneships of Martin and Rhode, and that the said Anne Morgan whoe is both poore and impotent never to this day receiued any releiue or satisfaction from either of the said Towneships towards her maintenance notw[i]thstanding the absence & want of her said husband whoe is now by reason of her great age being 80 yeares of age brought to great want & penury
And whereas the said Towneships doe refuse to pay or give any satisfaction to the said Anne Morgan w[i]thout yo[u]r Hono[u]rs speciall Order
the Premisses Considered May it please yo[u]r good Hono[u]rs to grant yo[u]r Order that the said Towneships May giue such allowance to her for her maintenance in her old age & great impotancy as to yo[u]r grave & Pious wisedomes shall bee thought fit & Convenient And yo[u]r Petic[i]oner as in Duty Bound shall ever pray &c
