The petition of Anne Falknor of Weaverham, Cheshire, 14 October 1651

To the hon[oura]ble the Justices of the peace assembled at the Quarter Sessions held at Northwich October 14th 1651
The humble petition of Anne Falknor widowe
Sheweth
That yo[u]r pet[itione]rs late husband John Falknor was in his life tyme well affected to the Parliam[en]t and pr[e]sent Gouernem[en]t and did beare armes under seuerall Commands in England for the Parliam[en]t
That when Colonell William Daniell raysed his Regim[en]t for the seruice of the state in Scotland yo[u]r pet[itione]rs said husband inlisted himselfe under Capt[ain] Joseph Wither in his Regim[en]t for the said seruice and marched w[i]th them thiehter and there lost his life to the utter undoing of yo[u]r pet[itione]r she haueing nothing at all to subsist on
May it therefore please this hon[oura]ble Bench upon tender considerac[i]on had of the pr[e]misses to admit yo[u]r pet[itione]r a pention[e]r and to let her haue such a yearely allowance for her subsistance as in yo[u]r wisdomes you shall thinke meet
And yo[u]r pet[itione]r as in duty bound will euer pray &c

<The Churchwardens and ou[er]seers of the poore of the p[ar]ish of Wau[er]ham are to p[ro]uide for the petic[i]on[e]r[s] releife till the next Sessions And in the meane tyme the petic[i]on[e]r is to appeare before the Justices when they review the maymed Souldiers in the hundred>
