The petition of Anne Chancler, Cheshire, Trinity 1662

To the kings Maiestyes Justices of the peace for the County Palatyne of Chester
The humble petic[i]on of Anne Chancler widdow
Sheweth
That John Chaunler her Late Husband beinge a Sergeint in his late Maiestyes seruice from the battell at Edgehill till the seige of Glocester vnder the Com[m]and of Maior Peter Walthall in Collonell Feildinge his Regiment and beinge Comanded vpon seruice at the sayd seige was their outright slayne whereby yo[u]r petic[i]oner beinge left destitute of all Comfort w[i]th a Charge vnder hand and nothing to subsist one hath euer since bin put to very much hardshippe her selfe beinge ould and lame.
The pr[e]misses Considered May it please yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps Prouedentiall care to assist yo[u]r petic[i]oner som releife ether by Pension or other wise, as it shall seame best requisite whereby shee may haue some p[ar]te of Liuelyhood and yo[u]r peticioner shall be euer bound to pray.
