The petition of Anne Addamson of Lancaster, Lancashire, Michaelmas 1647

To the right wor[shi]p[fu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of peace & Quo[rum] at the quarter Sessions at Lancaster.
The humble petic[i]on of Anne Addamson late wyfe of Humfrey Adamson deceased.
Humbly shewing
That yo[u]r pet[itione]rs said late husband during theese distracc[i]ons was in seruice for the King & Parliam[en]t & therein faithfully behaved himselfe And now being lately dead did leave yo[u]r pet[itione]r w[i]th twoe small Children haveing not any thing to subsist vpon or to releeve themselves w[i]thall save only by the charitable releefe of others her freinds in Lancaster where she inhabiteth
May it therefore please yo[u]r wor[shi]pps the pr[e]misses Considered to Expr[e]sse yo[u]r wor[shi]pps indulgence to her distressed Condic[i]on by giveing her some comfortable order whereby she may be releeved in such a way as yo[u]r wor[shi]pps shall thinke most meete And she as in dutie bound shall pray &c
