The petition of Ann Steynson, Derbyshire, 23 March 1648

To ye right Wor[shi]p[fu]ll ye Comitee

The humble petic[i]on of Ann Steynston, widow.

<Sheweth>

That yo[u]r petic[i]oners husband was a souldier in ye Regiment in Derby, vnder ye Comand of Captaine Mellor, was forth with ye Regiment vpon all seruices, hath much money in areare, is dead & left a poore widow & one Childe.

Therefore prayeth that releife herein as you in yo[u]r wisdoms shall thincke fitt. And shee shall pray &c.

March 23th 1647

Ordered that Mr Buxton Tre[asure]r pay the Petic[i]o[ne]r Eighteene shillings & Eight pence in p[ar]te of her husbands arreares
