The petition of Ann Merriman of Ollerton, Cheshire, Easter 1652

To the ho[noura]ble the Justices of Peace for the County Palatine of Chester

The humble petic[i]on of Ann Merrima[n] widdow

Sheweth that yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[er] whoe is aboue 64 yeares of age had her husband slaine in the stats service in Scotland vnder the Comand of Capt[ain] Birtles in Col[one]l W[illia]m Daniells Regiam[en]t. That yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] hath Two Children vnder Thirteene in yeares of Age whoe together w[i]th yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] are in great wants and distress

May it please yo[u]r ho[nou]rs the pr[e]mises Considered to grant yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] such weekely allowance as yow in yo[u]r Judgm[en]ts shall thinke meete or otherwise to admitt her a penc[i]on[er] and shee will eu[er] pray &c
