The petition of Ann Howorth of Bury, Lancashire, Michaelmas 1651

To the right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of peace & Quor[u]m at the gener[a]ll Seazions [sic.] of the peace houlden at Manchester in com[itatu] Lanc[aster]
The humble petic[i]on of Ann Howorth wiffe of Will[ia]m Howorth of the p[ar]ish of Berry
Sheweth that that [sic] yo[u]r p[ei]t[itone]rs husband being a Souldier in the p[ar]li[a]m[e]nt seruice and theareby occac[i]oned to bee absent in whose absence yo[u]r said oratrix hath Liued w[i]th Rob[er]te Leach her father for some short tyme. But is nowe expelled from her fathers howse by the Comandiment of the Church wardens and ouerseers of the said p[ar]ish And is destitute of any place of habitac[i]on but is like to wander abroad except yo[u]r worshipps grant spidy order for her Releefe.
May it thearefore please yo[u]r Wor[ship]s to giue order to the Churchwardens & ouerseers of the said p[ar]ish in regard yo[u]r oratrix was borne Educated & hath inhabitted in the said p[ar]ish all her life to p[ro]cure her some conveinent habitac[i]on in the said p[ar]ish And in the meant tyme to p[er]mit her father to entertayne her into his howse And yo[u]r petitioner as in duty bounden will dayly pray &c.
