The petition of Alice Tarbock of Ditton, Lancashire, 11 January 1658

To the Right wo[rshi]pffull the Justises of the peace & quoru[m] of the Ho[nou]rable Corte of sessions holden at Wigham
The Humble petic[i]on of Alice Tarbock of Ditton in the Count[y] of Lanc[aster] widow
Sheweth
That whearas yo[u]r said petic[i]on[e]r did formarly petic[i]on vnto the right wor[shi]pffull Peter Bold and John Foxe Esqu[ire]s Justices of the peace and quorom for the releeffe of yo[u]r said pet[iti]on[e]r and Two small Children left behind yo[u]r said peti[ti]on[e]rs husband Thomas Tarbocke of Ditton aforesaid lat[e] deceased who died in the seruice of his Highnesse the Lord proteckt[o]r and was in the seruice at Wost[e]r fight and Eles wheare and at his decese Came out of Liuarpoole and yo[u]r pet[iti]on[e]r notwithstanding the ordar vpon the said petic[i]on mad by the aforsaid worshipfull Justeces yo[u]r pet[iti]on[e]r did but receiue from the ouarseears of the pore the some of six shillings Eight pence for yo[u]r said peti[tio]nor and her two small Children
May it therfore please yo[u]r worshipes to tacke the pr[e]mises into Considerac[i]on and releeue yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs great nesesitie with such Considerable alowance as to yo[u]r worshipes thinke meet towardes the releeffe of my afor[e]s[ai]d small Children and yo[u]r pet[iti]on[e]r shall bee dayly bound to pray &c
