‘Whereas Zacharias Thorpe did a yeare & halfe since goe for a Trooper into the service of the p[ar]liam[en]t & hath left his wife & two small Children destitute of all meanes & for that about a quarter of a yeare since the said Thorpe did bring certayne wool to this Citty & left the same with Peter Tompson att the Unicorne to sell for him & for that the said Tompson hath not sould any nor the said Thorpe hath returned agayne nor left no meanes for the maynteyning his wife & 2 Children. It is therefore ordered by this Court that the said Tompson shall deliv[er] to the said Thorpes wife two Tedds of the said wooll to be imployed for the present maintenance of the said Thorpes wife & her Children & the[i]r releiffe in the[i]r great necessety.’
